Context: Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Mission, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and implementing specific Capacity Building in Migration Management portfolio projects of IOM Côte d’Ivoire, including the Germany-funded project “Enhance the capacity of Côte d’Ivoire’s authorities to Comprehensively Address Trafficking in persons and Migrant Smuggling – COCOTIP”. This project will provide the full spectrum of support associated with counter-trafficking and counter migrants smuggling activities that IOM provides, including direct assistance and protection, capacity building for partners and strengthened infrastructure. Core Functions / Responsibilities: Provide support and assistance for the timely start-up of the various phases or components of the COCOTIP project in a timely manner, following up on logistical and administrative arrangements in line with IOM’s policies and procedures, as well as donor requirements. Monitor specific aspects of project implementation, identify problems and propose action to expedite the delivery of inputs. Analyze progress and implementation reports, and identify and document significant project events, decisions, problems or deviations. Maintain liaison and good working relations with Government entities, implementing partners, UN agencies and other stakeholders in the project’s target countries. Draft progress and other reports and facilitate information exchange on operational aspects of the project between IOM, the programme’s donors and other stakeholders. Contribute to the development of other counter trafficking and counter migrant smuggling projects by selecting and summarizing background information, assessing the local context for the planning and administration of individual projects, and drafting segments of project proposals. Provide technical inputs for the development of training materials and the organization of relevant workshops, seminars, trainings in the field of counter trafficking, counter migrant smuggling and Immigration and Border Management (IBM). Participate in relevant seminars and meetings, as well as other events aimed at promoting IOM’s image and activities. Organize and undertake site visits and duty travel as required. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
